Plastic surgery of the eyelid upper & lower (Blepharoplasty)
Duration of operation: 1 to 1,5 hours Anaesthetic: local anaesthetic Minimum stay in Sopron (from a surgical point of view): 1 day Recommended stay: 2-3 days Stitch removal: 1 weeks after surgery Information about upper and lower eyelid correction Eyelid correction is basically about the removal of excess skin - and occasionally excess tissue - from the lower and the upper eyelids. The extent of the corrections is heavily dependent on the original state of your eyelids. An even and symmetric result can be achieved by taking precise measures of your eyelids. Removing the surplus skin means creating firm skin and muscle tissue – so much as one can approximately hold with two fingers. Before the operation, the plastic surgeon decides where to place the incision (in case of upper eye lids, it is always in the fold oft he eyelid). This place is carefully marked with a coloured pencil. The excess skin is removed carefully with a scalpel. The stitches are laid by using very thin thread which is almost invisible. (intrakutan). The intervention lasts 1-1,5 hours on average. The operation takes place normally under local anaesthesia, but can be performed in general anaesthesia, too, should the patient wish so. Immediately after the operation, you will experience swellings on and around the eye; they disappear within appr. 3-4 days. You will also experience some haematoma (effusion of blood) typically on the lower eyelids which disappear in about a week. Applying a cold compression (icing) and using sunglasses are therefore highly recommended/necessary. The stitches are removed 1 week after the operation. Price under local anaesthesia: - 1.6oo€ (for both lower and upper eyelids)
- 900€ (for upper eyelids)
- 1.100€ (for lower eyelids)
The prices are inclusive after-care such as control check-up, stitches removal etc.
