Minimum stay in Sopron (from a surgical point of view): 2 nights
Recommended stay: 1 week

Plastic abdomen surgery may take place as follows:
  • After a pregnancy or great weight loss, the extended and stretched skin is not capable to withdraw to its original state, remains dangled and sagging. Spontaneous improvement might be possible within a year after giving birth or loosing weight, however only an operation can correct this condition.
  • The skin firmness by ageing is reduced, which can also be treated by plastic abdomen surgery.
  • The easing of the abdominal wall is often responsible for the slipping away of the abdominal wall muscle fibres. It can occur as well, that the fat deposition under the skin leads to the expansion of the skin.

Information how a tightening of abdomen (tummy tuck) is done

There are two options for a tightening of abdomen. You and your surgeon will discuss your desired results, and he or she will determine the appropriate procedure during the consultation.

Complete abdominoplasty.

In this procedure, your abdomen will be cut from hipbone to hipbone, an option for those patients who require the most corrections. The incision is made low, at about the same level as your pubic hair.

Your surgeon will then manipulate and contour the skin, tissue and muscles as needed. Your belly button will have a new opening if you undergo this procedure, because it's necessary to free your navel from surrounding tissue. Drainage tubes may be placed under your skin and these will be removed in a few days as your surgeon sees it appropriate.

Partial or mini abdominoplasty.

Mini-abdominoplasties are often performed on patients whose fat deposits are located below the navel and require shorter incisions.

During this procedure, your belly button is unlikely to be moved. Your skin will be separated between the line of incision and your belly button. This type of surgery may also be performed with an endoscope (small camera at the end of a tube). The procedure may only take up to two hours, again, depending on your own personal situation and the complexity of your needs.

Depending on your desired results, this surgery can last from one to five hours. The complexity of your particular situation will also determine whether you have it completed as in-patient or as outpatient.

You will receive general anaesthesia, which will put you to sleep during the operation. Afterwards you have to spend one or two nights in the clinic.

Approximate surgery costs:
